Message from the Alumni President
Dear Fellow Alumni:
ince 1911, the Milford High
School has graduated thousands of students. I hope this website will help you
reestablish those classmates and friends that you may have lost contact
with over the years and/or serve as a reference tool.
The MHS Alumni Association has had many purposes over the years. Today,
the Association serves three main purposes--
- managing and awarding scholarships
- maintaining an active alumni database
- providing "up-to-date" information for class reunions (Name and address labels can be mailed for each class reunion for a $30.00 donation to the Aumni Association). If you are interested, just email the association below.
.
Presently, the Alumni Association manages three
different scholarships:
The Milford High School Alumni Scholarship,
is generally awarded to four academically outstanding students. Consideration
is given to leadership, initiative, attendance, and involvement in school
and community activities.
The James H. Postles Scholarship, was provided
through a trust left to the Alumni Association. Each year the interest
earned on the funds, up to $3,000.00, is awarded to any student who is
seeking further education in any field.
The James L. Davis Scholarship, a charitable
trust fund, managed by the Wilmington Trust Company, generates scholarship
for two graduating seniors of Milford High School. The recipients are selected
not only on the basis of academic achievement, community service, and involvement
in school activities, but also on the basis of financial need.
The Milford High School Alumni Association also maintains an active Alumni
Database of names, addresses, and phone numbers. Many alumni contact our
office if they are planning a class reunion, sending a newsletter, or just
trying to locate a friend. We are always looking for volunteers and alumni
who are interested in helping with newsletters, scholarships, donation,
and other projects.
Donations are always accepted and are tax deductible. Donations are used
for scholarship and can be sent to:
